Transportation to scheduled medical appointments is available from a variety of public and private organizations in Iowa. Some providers restrict eligibility by diagnosis, health care coverage or veteran status, so be sure to check when arranging a ride.
Get to a Medicaid-Covered Medical Appointment
Each of Iowa's three Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) have selected a transportation vendor. Members may contact the NEMT broker of their assigned MCO at the numbers below to schedule a ride:

Get to Cancer Treatment
The American Cancer Society’s Road to Recovery program provides transportation to and from cancer treatment for patients who do not have a ride or are unable to drive themselves. Call the Iowa Chapter at (800) 227-2345 for more information.
Get to an Appointment at the VA Medical Center in Iowa City
The VA Medical Center in Iowa City participates in the Veterans Transportation Services program, which provides transportation to veterans who are eligible for VA health care benefits and have a VA-authorized appointment. Call (319) 338-0581 to learn more.
